Nutrition & Healthy Eating
At Turners Retreat Early Years and Childhood Services, we recognise the important role that healthy nutrition plays in supporting children’s growth, development and overall wellbeing.
We aim to provide a positive and enjoyable approach to mealtimes, where children are encouraged to develop healthy eating habits within a relaxed and supportive environment.
Children are offered a variety of nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, designed to support their energy levels, concentration and development. Our menus aim to include a balanced selection of foods that provide the nutrients children need during their early years.
Mealtimes are also valuable social experiences. Children are encouraged to sit together, develop independence and enjoy conversation with their peers and practitioners. Through these shared moments, children learn important social skills while developing confidence around food and mealtime routines.
We work closely with families to ensure that dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences are carefully considered and respected. The wellbeing and safety of every child remains our highest priority.
By introducing children to a range of healthy foods and positive mealtime experiences, we aim to support the development of lifelong healthy habits.

Healthy bodies and healthy minds provide the foundation for confident learning and development.
